Leonardo da Vinci was, of course, a master portrait artist. In studying the beauty and complexity of the human face and its expressions, he created some of the first caricature drawings (which he unflatteringly called ‘grotesques’).
Today, Leonardo can draw live caricature sketches using one of his original favorite mediums – red chalk on paper. This choice of medium and style offers a very unique style of caricature drawings.
